The founding document

Concept, Lore & Synopsis

This is the document the whole project grew out of: the cosmology, the two Earths, the Barrier and the full three-act synopsis, written before a single chapter of the novel existed.

It is reproduced here as it stood then, with one correction, described below.

The draft has since diverged from this document in three places — how Balian’s fragment reached Earth 1, what the Second Faction actually wants, and what Zalian does at the end. Those are left standing. They are not mistakes; they are a story changing its mind, and the record of it changing is worth more than a tidy page.

The correction is different in kind. The original said that touching the Sphere completed a genetic exchange, implanting Virden biology into Fridan. That was never what happened in this story — it was an error about the story’s own mechanism, and it inverted the cause of everything that follows. Nothing was added to Fridan. The fragment was already in him, from birth, and the Sphere only woke it. The passage on the Sphere below carries the corrected account; the rest of the document is untouched.

“In a universe where gods only hear what is spoken, the mind’s deepest sleep became an open door.”

📑 Logline

When an ordinary man in Nor Yesey wakes with forbidden memories of an impossible dream, he discovers he was exploited as an unwitting biological key by an advanced sibling civilization to extract the master codes of creation from God herself. Severed from divine grace and transformed into something no longer purely human, he must execute a daring reverse-engineering of the dream realm to reach an unsuspecting hybrid in an alien galaxy and warn a creator who can no longer hear him.

1. The Original Schism & The Deal

Before physical worlds were formed, the supreme female creator Zalian designed Balian as her divine peer and steward. However, a philosophical divide fractured their communion: Zalian believed in Order through Distant Guidance (non-interference with conscious thought, communicating only through spoken words or REM dreamscapes), while Balian demanded Immediate Immanence (living directly among creations, actively participating in their struggles).

Rather than annihilating each other, they established The Sovereign Pact:

  • Two separate galaxies were seeded: Earth 1 (Zalian’s pure humans) and Earth 2 (Balian’s mixed civilization, the Virden).
  • The Barrier: A profound biological lock was instituted. The atmospheric chemistries of the two worlds were made lethal to pure members of the opposing species. Direct physical invasion meant instant biological collapse.
  • The Non-Interference Law: Zalian bound herself to never invade conscious minds or override free will. Her only interface with humanity remained the subtle language of REM sleep.

2. The Chaos Advantage & The Betrayer

Banished to Earth 2, Balian walked physically among his followers—angels and humans mixed into the Virden. Their society endured relentless turbulence, wars, and evolutionary pressure. While Earth 1 developed in steady, sheltered peace, the harsh crucible of Earth 2 accelerated their scientific and psychic technology by millennia.

Yet, Earth 2 lacked what Earth 1 possessed: access to Zalian’s cosmic creation codes. Longing to master the genesis of new universes, Earth 2 sought a way through the Barrier.

The Betrayal of Balian: Balian himself, the creator deity of Earth 2 and the original betrayal creature, intimately understood celestial architecture and Zalian’s immutable rules. He realized:

  1. Zalian cannot read conscious thoughts—only spoken words and dreams.
  2. Zalian’s non-interference law created a blind spot: she cannot decode Balian’s genetic signatures.
  3. If an Earth 1 human carried a dormant fragment of Balian’s own lineage, that human could act as an invisible relay for Earth 2 to siphon Zalian’s sacred wisdom.

3. The DNA Anomalies (Fridan & Uxies)

Through deep-time genetic drift, two mirrored anomalies emerged across the galaxies:

  • Fridan (Earth 1): An unassuming citizen in Nor Yesey carrying an ultra-rare dormant Balian DNA fragment. Earth 2’s probability algorithms scanned billions of minds and identified Fridan as the ultimate key to infiltrate Zalian’s dream frequency.
  • Uxies (Earth 2): A female Virden citizen living in the cacophony of Earth 2 who unknowingly carries a dormant Zalian DNA fragment. She feels an innate, quiet pull toward stillness that alienates her from her chaotic peers.

🎬 Complete Story Synopsis

ACT I — The Infiltration (Beginning)

The story opens in the disorienting, hyper-vivid landscape of a manufactured REM dreamscape. Fridan, an ordinary man, finds himself competing in an opulent, high-stakes hunt alongside aloof, aristocratic figures. The atmosphere feels sacred and perilous.

From above, a comforting and gentle female presence—Zalian—guides him with concise, scripted cues. Reality bends to assist his journey: a transit rail glows crimson under the night sky, directing him through the maze of a towering metropolis toward a guarded apartment complex.

Inside, watchers maintain a suffocating smokescreen, observing his movements without adhering to the rules themselves. Despite growing unease that he is being used as a pawn, Fridan follows the divine compass in his intuition. In a secluded chamber, he discovers the prize: The Sphere—a humble, unassuming blue-felt nodule marked with the cryptic glyph (: .).

The moment his fingers close around it, an overwhelming sensory surge erupts—a deafening pressure like a symphonic string swell, cold goosebumps tearing across his skin, and an explosive expansion of cosmic clarity. He perceives the architecture of the cosmos.

Then, a sudden frequency spike—the covert interference of a rogue Second Faction trying to intercept the transmission—shatters the dream’s suppression protocol.

Fridan abruptly jolts awake in his bedroom in Nor Yesey. He remembers everything.

Fridan attempts to process the morning after. The physical world feels hollow, while the knowledge in his mind burns with impossible clarity. Desperate for grounding, he attempts to pray and reach out to Zalian.

Absolute silence.

When Fridan touched the Sphere, nothing was put into him and nothing was exchanged. The Sphere and the fragment in his blood are the same kind of thing, and contact woke what had been dormant in his genome since birth. That waking is the expansion — his own biology running for the first time. It is also why he remembered: the suppression that ends every run was applied to him exactly as it is applied to everybody, and it failed, because it is built for a human mind and for a few seconds his had stopped being only that. Scanning him, Zalian finds that fragment awake. Bound by her ancient laws regarding the Barrier and the balance of creation, she permanently severs her connection to him. Fridan is cast out — unprotected, alone, and switched on.

Soon, shadowy operatives from the Second Faction approach him. Playing the role of sympathetic liberators, they claim Earth 2 is an egalitarian paradise seeking peaceful coexistence with their creator. But Fridan, whose cognitive faculties are rapidly evolving due to the Virden integration, spots the cracks in their narrative. They are not liberators; they are manipulative opportunists trying to harness the creation codes extracted during his Hunt.

Synthesizing his personal memory, the Sphere’s transferred knowledge, and the mechanics of his exploitation, Fridan achieves a breakthrough deduction:

  1. Earth 2 hijacked Zalian’s trust by anchoring a signal to his dormant Balian DNA.
  2. Zalian never knew she was being tapped because she respects conscious free will and can only commune during dreams.
  3. Therefore, an inverse mirror must exist on Earth 2: a Virden carrying Zalian DNA.

Tapping into the forbidden data streams of the Second Faction, Fridan uncovers the classified record of an anomalous Virden subject: a woman named Uxies.

ACT III — The Reverse Dream & The Warning (Climax)

Fridan faces a crushing moral crossroads: to warn Zalian that her sacred creation codes are being stolen, he must construct his own clandestine dream-transmission device and infiltrate Uxies’ mind while she sleeps—inflicting on an innocent stranger the exact non-consensual violation that shattered his own life.

Refusing to be as ruthless as Earth 2, Fridan devises a subtle, non-destructive method. Using his innate Virden neurological frequency, he bypasses Earth 2’s global surveillance networks and aligns his signal with the natural REM cycle of Uxies.

As Uxies sleeps in the chaotic cities of Earth 2, Fridan gently enters her dreamscape. Rather than commanding her or taking over her mind, he plants a symbolic, harmonized resonance within her dormant Zalian DNA.

The resonance ignites.

Across the insurmountable galactic Barrier, the dormant spark of Zalian’s own essence within Uxies awakens like a flare. Because it originates from her own divine template, Zalian hears it.

The truth rushes into Zalian’s celestial awareness: the ancient betrayal of Balian, the continuous extraction of creation codes through human sleep, Fridan’s tragic sacrifice, and the manipulation of both worlds.

The revelation shakes the divine architecture. Zalian acts with precise, non-violent majesty: rather than destroying Earth 2, she shifts the harmonic frequency of the cosmic Barrier. The backdoor vulnerabilities in human REM sleep are permanently sealed, neutralizing Earth 2’s extraction machines in an instant.

EPILOGUE — The Bridge Across Two Skies (Ending)

On Earth 1, Fridan stands on a high rooftop in Nor Yesey at dawn. The divine voice in his head is gone, and he will never be an ordinary human again. Yet, the deep existential terror has been replaced by profound purpose. He has protected his creator and preserved the balance of two galaxies.

Light-years away, on the storm-swept, neon-lit towers of Earth 2, Uxies awakens. She sits upright in the morning air, breathing the turbulent atmosphere. For the first time in her life, the chaotic noise in her soul has fallen silent.

In its place is an unmistakable, warm golden stillness—and the faint, comforting memory of a kind stranger who met her in the dark.

She looks up at the stars, touches her chest, and begins to search for him.

🌟 Why “The Hunt” Is Unique in Modern Sci-Fi

Conventional Sci-Fi TropeThe Hunt Subversion
Cosmic Artifacts grant ultimate power. The Sphere is a deceptive extraction tool; obtaining it contaminates the hero and isolates him from God.
Alien Invasions are physical and destructive. The invasion is an imperceptible, organic cognitive harvest conducted via mandatory REM sleep cycles.
Gods are either omnipotent tyrants or illusions.Zalian is genuinely benevolent, but her strict adherence to free will and privacy creates a tragic vulnerability.
The Chosen One is destined for greatness.Fridan was chosen solely by an unfeeling probability algorithm scanning for genetic compatibility.
Parallel worlds battle for supremacy. The two worlds are bound by biological incompatibility, leaving two isolated hybrids as the only possible bridge.
